The Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) has a unique set of doctrines and practices that often lead to misconceptions, both within and outside the Christian community. Below is a deeper explanation of some of these misconceptions and their biblical or doctrinal basis.

—

1. Worship of Angels

66 Out of 120 Failed DNA Tests, MKO Abiola’s Son Reveals

Misconception: People assume that CCC members worship angels because of their emphasis on spiritual messages and visions.

Reality: The CCC acknowledges the existence of angels as messengers of God but does not worship them. Biblical references to angelic visitations (e.g., Gabriel appearing to Mary in Luke 1:26-38) support the belief in divine messengers. However, CCC teachings make it clear that worship is directed only to God through Jesus Christ.

—

2. White Garment (Sutana) and Rituals

Misconception: Some believe CCC members wear white garments because of mystical or fetish reasons.

Reality: The white garment symbolizes purity and holiness, aligning with Revelation 7:14, which describes saints wearing white robes after being cleansed. The CCC doctrine teaches that members must strive for holiness in both their physical and spiritual lives.

—

3. The Use of Water, Salt, and Candles

Misconception: The use of spiritual elements such as water, salt, and candles is sometimes seen as occultic or fetishistic.

Reality: These elements have strong biblical significance:

Water – Used for cleansing and healing (John 5:1-9).

Salt – Represents preservation and divine covenant (Matthew 5:13).

Candles – Symbolize light and spiritual guidance (Matthew 5:14-16).

CCC uses these items in prayers as symbolic representations, not as objects of worship.

—

4. Worship Without Shoes

Misconception: Some see the removal of shoes during worship as a superstitious practice.

Reality: This practice is based on Exodus 3:5, where God instructed Moses to remove his shoes because he was standing on holy ground. The CCC believes that the church is a sacred place, and removing shoes is a sign of reverence and purity.

—

5. Observing the Sabbath and Sunday Worship

Misconception: Many think that CCC is a Sabbath-only church like the Seventh-Day Adventists.

Reality: CCC acknowledges the Sabbath (Saturday) as a day of rest and worship but also holds Sunday services. This practice aligns with Exodus 20:8-11 (commandment to keep the Sabbath) and the New Testament tradition of Sunday worship in remembrance of Christ’s resurrection.

—

6. Heavy Reliance on Prophets and Visions

Misconception: Some believe CCC places more importance on prophets’ messages than the Bible.

Reality: While CCC believes in prophecy and spiritual visions (Joel 2:28), it does not place them above the Bible. Prophecies are meant to guide, warn, and confirm biblical truths, not replace them.

—

7. Isolation from Other Christian Denominations

Misconception: Some think CCC prohibits members from associating with Christians from other churches.

Reality: CCC encourages members to maintain their unique identity, but it does not forbid them from interacting with other Christians. The church, however, advises members to be cautious of doctrines that conflict with CCC’s teachings.

Conclusion

Many of these misconceptions arise from a lack of understanding of CCC’s biblical foundations. The church’s practices are deeply rooted in scripture, and while they may differ from mainstream Pentecostal or evangelical traditions, they are based on spiritual principles found in the Bible.
