This is truly a tragic incident that has occurred at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba in Ondo State. The loss of a young student’s life is devastating, and it is disheartening to hear that the police are allegedly not taking the matter seriously.

The safety and security of students should be a top priority for any educational institution and the government. No stone should be left unturned in determining the identity of the perpetrator and bringing them to justice.

Cases like these remind us of the importance of security measures on university campuses. It is essential for institutions to have effective surveillance systems, well-trained security personnel, and mechanisms in place to respond promptly to any incidents. Additionally, continuous safety awareness campaigns and self-defense training can empower students to protect themselves in dangerous situations.

The Ondo state government should also play an active role in addressing security concerns in the state.
