In a significant step towards addressing electrification issues and ensuring adequate power supply, the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area, Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, has fulfilled his promise to Government College, Ketu by presenting a brand new 200 KVA transformer to the school.

Some months ago, the school had written and also visited the Chairman about the challenge of blackout being experienced by the School, due to a faulty transformer. Akogun Anomo promptly addressed the issue by providing a new transformer.

During the official handover, Akogun Anomo emphasized his administration’s commitment to enhancing the educational environment and the overall development of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA. He highlighted the crucial role a stable power supply plays in fostering academic excellence and creating a conducive learning atmosphere for students and staff.

The principals of both the Junior and Senior Schools of Government College, Ketu expressed their profound gratitude to Akogun Wale Anomo and his administration, noting that the new transformer would alleviate the power outage challenges that had previously hindered the school’s operations and academic activities.

In addition to the transformer donation, Akogun Wale Anomo has also successfully illuminated the streets of Orugbo-Iddo community in Ward G1, completing the pilot phase of the “Light up Ikosi-Ejinrin initiative,” a street lighting project aimed at enhancing safety and security for residents.

Furthermore, Akogun Anomo has inspected the ongoing rehabilitation of the failed road portion at the entrance of Ajebo Community towards Orugbo-Iddo. He urged the contractors to expedite the work, emphasizing the importance of completing the rehabilitation before the Eid al-Kabir festival.

Akogun Anomo also visited the ongoing reconstruction of the road along the Ikorodu-Itoikin expressway, particularly the Ajebo/Ago-Hausa area, which is now at the asphalt laying phase. He commended the contractors, GELD Construction Company, for their commendable work and encouraged them to finish the asphalt laying before the festival to ensure a smooth ride for commuters and residents.
