The Osun State Amotekun Corps has arrested a 35-year-old man for the alleged rape of a 10-year-old girl.
According to the Amotekun Corps Commander, CSP Isaac Omoyele (rtd), the suspect, identified as Ibrahim, allegedly lured the young girl into his residence in Agba, Boripe Local Government Area of Osun State, where he then forcefully had sexual intercourse with her.
The arrest was made after the girl’s mother reported the incident to the Amotekun Boripe Command. During the preliminary investigation, Ibrahim confessed to the crime, Omoyele said.
Authorities revealed that the suspect not only sexually assaulted the child but also shaved a part of her hair and made her wear a different dress.
“Upon preliminary investigation, the suspect confessed to perpetrating the act by defiling the young girl,” Omoyele stated. “He has been handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.”
The Osun State Amotekun Corps has vowed to continue its efforts to ensure the safety and protection of all citizens within the state, particularly the most vulnerable members of the community.
