A heavily pregnant woman, Dorathy Opus, who went missing on Friday, February 7, 2025, has been found alive but without her baby.

Dorathy, who was nine months pregnant at the time of her disappearance, was discovered on Wednesday, February 12, around 7 PM at The Young Roundabout in Port Harcourt. Witnesses believe she was abandoned there by her abductors, who allegedly forced her into labor and took her baby.

Disoriented and in distress, she was rushed to a hospital, where she is currently receiving medical care.

Her sister-in-law recounted that Dorathy left home on Friday afternoon with her phone, charger, and purse, assuring her son she would return soon. When she failed to come back, her family launched a frantic search. The last known sighting of her was at UPE Bus Stop, where she was seen waiting for a commercial vehicle.

Despite extensive efforts to locate her, there were no leads until Good Samaritans found her at the roundabout on Wednesday.

The shocking incident has raised concerns among residents, who fear a disturbing trend of kidnappers targeting pregnant women for their babies.
