In a recent BBC report, more than 25 persons have come forward with chilling eyewitness accounts of alleged sexual assault, physical abuse, faked miracles, and trauma suffered in the hands of the late Nigerian pastor, Temitope Joshua, widely known as TB Joshua, The PUNCH reports.
The influential religious figure, founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, gained global recognition for his purported miraculous healings, ranging from cancer and HIV/AIDS to chronic migraines and blindness.
While Joshua’s philanthropy attracted many followers, his so-called miracles drew a far-reaching global audience among evangelical churches in the late 1990s and early 2000s. His unexpected passing on June 5, 2021, added another layer of mystery as the cause of death was undisclosed.
A two-year investigation by the BBC, in collaboration with Open Democracy, revealed shocking details. Former insiders estimated that Joshua amassed tens of millions of dollars from pilgrims and various revenue streams, including fundraising, video sales, and international stadium appearances.
The investigation focused on allegations of sexual assault, physical abuse, solitary confinement, and fake miracles. Testimonies from over 25 eyewitnesses and victims across the UK, Nigeria, Ghana, US, South Africa, and Germany suggested that Joshua had been allegedly abusing and raping young women from around the world for nearly two decades.
