The Commissioner for Finance in Borno State, Ahmed Ali Ahmed, has been found dead in his room, according to local reports.
The details surrounding the incident are still unclear, but Daily Trust reports that the commissioner’s door was forcefully opened on Monday morning after he failed to emerge at his usual time.
“The deceased exceeded the time he usually comes out in the morning, fueling suspicion that something was wrong,” a local source told the newspaper.
In a statement released by the State Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, Usman Tar, the death of Ahmed was confirmed. The statement noted that his burial is scheduled for 5 pm on Monday, August 26, 2024, at his family residence on Damboa Road, behind the Indimi residence in Maiduguri.
