BREAKING: Gunmen kidnap Channels TV reporter in Rivers, demand N30m

A Channels Television journalist, Mr Joshua Rogers, was kidnapped by gunmen on Thursday night at his residence in Rumuosi, Rivers State.

Rogers, who covers the Rivers State Government House, was followed home after work and accosted by armed individuals who forced him out of his car and abducted him.

The incident occurred around 9 pm. Prior to the kidnapping, Rogers had covered an event in Ndoni, Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area, where Governor Siminalayi Fubara inaugurated a Primary Healthcare Centre donated to the state by the PAMO Educational Foundation, founded by former Rivers governor, Dr Peter Odili.

According to a source, the kidnappers have demanded a ransom of N30m and have contacted Rogers’ wife. The State Police Command spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, has not been reachable for confirmation.
