BREAKING: Senator Binani wins Adamawa supplementary election as first female governor

Senator Aisha Dahiru, popularly known as Binani, has emerged as the winner of the highly contested Adamawa Governorship election, as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Barrister Hudu Yunusa, the Resident Electoral Commissioner for the state, announced the final results of the election after the supplementary polls held on Saturday.

The election was keenly contested by various political parties in the state, but it was Senator Aisha Dahiru, who emerged victorious with a total of 394,141 votes. Her closest rival, Malam Nuhu Ribadu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), trailed behind with a total of 83,041 votes, while the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Ahmadu Fintiri, came in third with 57,654 votes.
