Burial of Rep. Hon. Akinremi Jagaban Postponed

The burial arrangements for the late Oyo federal lawmaker, Hon. Olaide Akinremi Jagaban from the Ibadan North Federal Constituency, have been postponed until tomorrow.

According to a new statement from the family, the body of the deceased will arrive at the Ibadan Airport, Alakia, tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. prompt. This is a change from the earlier reports that he would be laid to rest today at 4 p.m. according to Islamic rites and buried at the Eternal Homes Cemetery, located at Km 25 on the Ibadan-Oyo road, in the Afijio Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The burial will now take place at Temidire Estate, Tipper Garage, Ologuneru, Ibadan at 10 a.m. prompt.

One of the late lawmaker’s close allies earlier confirmed that the remains of the Ibadan North federal constituency lawmaker are on their way to Ibadan and will be received at the Ibadan airport. It was also reported that one of Akinremi’s colleagues, Hon. Abass Adigun Agboworin, arranged for a chartered flight to convey the body of the lawmaker from Abuja to Ibadan. The plane is expected to land at the Alakia Ibadan local airport sometime after 2:30 pm today.

The late Hon. Akinremi passed away this morning in Abuja after a brief illness.
