The President of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Samuel Olusegun Oladele, will on Saturday, August 30, 2025, clock 70 years, with a series of activities lined up to celebrate the milestone.
According to a statement by the church’s Director of Publicity, Pastor Ademisoye Alawode, the celebration will commence on Tuesday, August 26, with a special visit to Pastor Oladele’s birthplace in Alagbagba and Asaju, both in Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State.
On Thursday, August 28, members of the church will gather for an Evening of Worship and Hymns at the Christ Apostolic Church, All Saints Chapel, located within the CAC General Secretariat, Bashorun, Ibadan. The grand finale will be a thanksgiving service scheduled for Saturday, August 30, at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Pastor Oladele, who was appointed General Superintendent of CAC in 2014, became the President of the church in January 2021. Upon assuming leadership, he unveiled a three-point agenda focusing on the unity of the church, human capital development, and structured evangelism and church planting.
The statement noted that in four years of his leadership, over 3,000 senior pastors of the church have benefitted from the Pastors’ Leadership Retreat (PLR), a training initiative spearheaded by the CAC Leadership Academy. Pastor Oladele’s tenure has also seen the introduction of centralized Bible study manuals, discipleship training, evangelistic crusades, revivals, and apostolic visits, all of which have revived the teaching and spread of the word of God within the church.
His administration has also embarked on key structural and infrastructural developments, including the repositioning of Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU) and the resuscitation of the CAC Centenary Building Project in Ikeji-Arakeji.
“Pastor Oladele, by his exemplary conduct and ministry, has helped to restore Christ Apostolic Church to her rightful place in the comity of churches in Nigeria,” Pastor Alawode stated. “On behalf of all pastors and members of Christ Apostolic Church globally, we celebrate the grace of God upon this icon of faith and pray for his continued good health, long life, and success.”
