Two days ago, it was reported by various news platforms that the men of the Lagos State Police Command, stormed the residence of Seun Kuti, and ransacked it in search of evidence to nail the Afrobeat singer, as it was learnt that, the operatives thoroughly combed his residence, as they fished for evidence to charge him with a separate crime.
More information made it known that, the police officers took the musician along when they went to his house and seized his wife’s mobile phone.
However, according to a news that was published by the Sahara Reporters News Online this afternoon, it was reported that while speaking on Wednesday, one of the police sources, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, revealed what his colleagues found in Seun Kuti’s house.
While talking, the source said, “What police found during Kuti’s home search. They were looking for cannabis and weapons to use against him but, they found only a gun licence, and then requested to see the gun which had been sent for repairs. And they are now working to revoke the licence from him.”
Recall that Seun Kuti, who happens to be the son of Afrobeat legend, Fela Kuti, was on Monday arrested and handcuffed following his visit to the state police command.
On Monday, the Sahara Reporters earlier reported that, Seun Kuti, kept his word that he would cooperate with the police by turning himself in on Monday to allow the investigation into the allegation that he assaulted a police officer, as captured in a viral video.
He was however arrested, handcuffed by the police and moved to SCIID, Panti for interrogation.
