In a somber turn of events, the Nollywood film industry has been plunged into mourning following the untimely passing of renowned movie producer, Sharon Okpamen.

The tragic news was first broken by fellow producer, Stanley Ontop, who took to social media to share the devastating update with the community.

“Nollywood Actor and Producer Sharon Okpamen has unfortunately passed on,” Ontop wrote in his post. “It’s a sad day for Nollywood & the Edo entertainment industry. Sharon, who was a filmmaker, actress, entrepreneur and humanitarian, has left a significant void in the industry.”

Ontop went on to express his condolences, saying, “May her soul rest in perfect peace, Amen.”

While the exact cause of Okpamen’s demise remains unclear, an unverified Instagram post claimed that the talented producer had passed away during childbirth, adding another layer of tragedy to the heartbreaking news.

Okpamen was widely respected within the Nollywood community for her multifaceted contributions to the industry. As a filmmaker, actress, entrepreneur and humanitarian, she had established herself as a formidable force, leaving an indelible mark on the Nigerian entertainment landscape.

The loss of Sharon Okpamen has undoubtedly created a void that will be deeply felt by her colleagues, collaborators and fans alike.
