On August 14, Pakistan's 78th Independence Day, a 28-year-old Belgian woman was found abandoned on the streets of Islamabad with her hands bound behind her back. According to Pakistani media reports, the woman alleged that she had been raped for five days, leading to the arrest of a suspect.

The woman was discovered by nearby residents, who alerted the police. The authorities responded promptly and rescued the woman from the scene. In her statement to the police, the woman claimed that she had been assaulted by multiple men over the course of five days.

Preliminary investigations corroborated the woman's account, and the police apprehended a suspect named Tameezuddin at his home. During interrogation, Tameezuddin claimed that the woman was mentally unstable and lacked personal identification and travel documents.

The woman was taken to a hospital for a physical examination to assess her injuries, and the authorities have arranged for Tameezuddin to undergo a medical examination at the same hospital. The investigation is ongoing as officials seek to piece together the events leading up to the discovery of the victim.

Police officials have also contacted the Belgian embassy, but they reportedly have no record of the woman travelling to Pakistan. The authorities have also reached out to the Netherlands mission, as the location the woman indicated as her native area is near the border between the two countries.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has also been involved in the investigation, but they too seem to have no record of a Belgian woman of the given name having travelled to Pakistan.

More details are expected to emerge as the investigation continues.
