Nollywood is in mourning following the untimely death of actor Big Larry, who passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024. The announcement was made by popular movie producer Stanley Ontop via his official Instagram account, where he shared a heartfelt message alongside a photo of the late actor.
“Nollywood actor Big Larry has just passed away. What caused his demise is yet to be known. May your soul rest in peace, Big Larry. Nollywood, Asaba mourns,” Ontop wrote, reflecting on the deep loss felt within the industry.
Big Larry’s passing adds to the sorrow that has enveloped Nollywood this year, which has already seen the loss of numerous beloved figures, including Mr. Ibu, Amaechi Muonagor, Sisi Quadri, Ganiyu ‘Ogunjimi‘ Oyeyemi, and Junior Pope, among others.
In response to the recent wave of tragedies, the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) had previously announced a four-day fasting and prayer session in May 2024, led by the founder of Streams of Joy International, Jerry Eze, aimed at combating the rising number of untimely deaths in the industry.
