The former Bursar of the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology (OYSCATECH), Igboora, Dr. Safara Agbogun, has called on the Rector of the institution, Prof. Akinola Akinlabi, to remain focused and lead the college with a clear vision.
Dr. Agbogun made the call during a send-forth program organized in his honor by the Association of Ibarapa Staff Indigenes working at OYSCATECH.
The event was graced by dignitaries, including the Honorable Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Salihu Abdulwaheed Adelabu, traditional rulers from Ibarapa land, political and community leaders, and management team members of OYSCATECH.
Dr. Agbogun expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to complete his tenure as the Bursar. He commended friends, associates, political and community leaders, and OYSCATECH staff and students for joining the celebration of his retirement.
Recounting his achievements, Dr. Agbogun highlighted the successful completion of the Home and Rural Economics Building, as well as the support he provided to the Alumni Association for the X-ray/Laboratory building project. He charged the Rector, Prof. Akinlabi, to continue demonstrating strong leadership and play a fatherly role, as he takes over the baton of leadership.
Dr. Agbogun further commended the Ibarapa Staff Association for their generous donations towards the construction of a 15.7 million Naira Staff Building Complex for OYSCATECH. He assured the Rector of his continued support, even after retirement, and emphasized that the growth of an institution requires the collective efforts of all stakeholders.
In his response, Prof. Akinlabi acknowledged Dr. Agbogun's love for the institution and promised to work tirelessly to move OYSCATECH forward. The Chairman of the Association of Ibarapa Staff Indigenes, Mr. Peter Oladokun, also expressed gratitude to Dr. Agbogun for his immeasurable contributions to the growth of the institution and the Ibarapa staff.
