In the early hours of Tuesday, April 16, 2025, unknown assailants armed with cutlasses and firearms reportedly attacked the family home of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in the Obeiba-Ihima area of Okehi Local Government Area, Kogi State.
According to intelligence reports, the incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. when at least three armed men stormed the property, vandalizing parts of the building and smashing several window panes.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Chief Security Officer, Yakubu Ovanja, immediately reported the incident to security authorities. Officers from the Okehi Division responded swiftly to the distress call and arrived at the scene shortly after.
No casualties were reported, and no arrests have been made as of the time of this report. Security operatives have assessed and documented the damage, and a preliminary investigation is currently underway.
Police sources, quoted by security analyst Zagazola Makama, stated that the motive behind the attack remains unknown.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, a key political figure in Kogi Central, has yet to release an official statement on the incident. Authorities continue to investigate in an effort to identify and apprehend those responsible.
