Hon. Olayinka Segelu, a Germany-based businessman and Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has celebrated the birthday of Alhaja (Chief) Modinat Abosede Adedibu, the Southwest PDP women leader.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Hon. Segelu, the Chairman of YSEG Hotels and Suites in Ibadan, Oyo State, described Alhaja Adedibu as a "wonderful woman of substance and honour" who has greatly served humanity and contributed significantly to the growth of the PDP and the sustenance of democracy in Nigeria.
In his congratulatory message, Hon. Segelu fondly recalled a pivotal moment from the past, where Alhaja Adedibu's intervention saved his late father, Chief Hon. (Dr.) Olusegun Moses Akintola Oladimeji Segelu, from the hands of abductors at a PDP convention in Abuja over two decades ago.
"Alhaja Abosede Adedibu rescued my father from the hands of the miscreants," Hon. Segelu recounted, expressing his gratitude to the PDP Southwest women leader for her courageous and timely action.
Referring to Alhaja Adedibu as the "godmother of the super performing Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde 'Iya Gomina ti a'," Hon. Segelu praised her as a "true and peaceful mother of Oyo State politics for many years."
In his heartfelt birthday wishes, Hon. Segelu prayed that Alhaja Adedibu would live to celebrate many more years in good health of mind and body, describing her as a "charming grandmother and a paragon of beauty."
