Activist and lawyer, Dele Farotimi, has been granted bail by the Ekiti State High Court.
The court granted Farotimi bail in the sum of N50 million, with a surety in the like sum.
The court ruled that the surety must possess a landed property and adjourned the matter till January 29, 2025, for further proceedings.
Chief Afe Babalola, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, wrote a petition against Farotimi, alleging criminal defamation over some claims the younger lawyer made in one of his books entitled, Nigeria and Its Criminal Justice System.
He was arrested by police from the Ekiti State Command and arraigned in a magistrate court in the state.
