Dangote Petroleum Refinery has sold one million litres of diesel to registered oil marketers at a price of N1,225 per litre, resulting in a drop in diesel prices across the country.
The $20bn refinery, which started pumping out diesel last week, has promised to release more products in the future, including Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) in May.
The price of diesel is expected to fall significantly due to the refinery's release of products.
Oil marketers have confirmed that they have purchased diesel from the refinery at prices ranging from N1,250 to N1,300 per litre.
