Two large cows valued at ₦1.9 million were stolen from the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), Testimony Parish, located in Egbeda, Oyo State. The cows were meant to be a centerpiece for the church's upcoming annual adult harvest thanksgiving celebration, set for November 17, 2024.
The theft took place on November 11, just days before the anticipated event, as preparations were in full swing. The church took to social media to share its distress over the incident and to announce its efforts to procure replacements for the stolen animals.
In a Facebook post, the church detailed, "These two huge cows were stolen from where they were tied on the church premises at CCC Testimony Parish, Elerumoke Area, Egbeda, Iyana Ajia. They were intended for slaughter for the 9th adult harvest thanksgiving celebration this Sunday, November 17, 2024."
In light of the situation, the church has appealed to its members and the public for prayers and financial support to ensure the success of the event. Additionally, they urged anyone with information regarding the stolen cows to reach out to the parish shepherd.
