Barr. Adebayo Abdur. Raheem Shittu, the Chairman of the Governing Council at the Dave Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences, has expressed his condolences to the immediate family of the late Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu, the former Oyo State Chapter Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement released on Tuesday through his media office, Shittu described Omodewu's sudden demise as "shocking and unexpected." The former Minister of Communications said that the passage was a significant loss not only to the Otu community and Oyo State but to the entire nation.
"No doubt, his sudden passage has created a vacuum in the political landscape of Oyo State and Nigeria at large," Shittu said.
The former minister extended his condolences to Omodewu's wife and children, as well as the APC family and the people of Otu in the Itesiwaju local government area of Oyo State.
"As a family, we understand his sudden enigmatic demise has left a void in our hearts, that of his friends, associates, supporters, and political loyalists. It is in light of this, we seek calm and, most importantly, your prayers, as we jointly pray for the repose of the soul of late Omodewu," Shittu added.
Shittu also praised Omodewu's "passion for public service and his unwavering determination to make a difference," stating that these qualities will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and that his legacy will continue to inspire everyone to strive for a better tomorrow.
