The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Egbeda Unit in Oyo State, has pledged to be more visibile on the road in order to reduce road crashes to the barest minimum in the command and the state in general.
The Egbeda FRSC Unit Commander, Akeem Kareem made the pledge while decorating the 21 newly promoted personnel of the command on Friday in Egbeda,Oyo State
Kareem said that the command had been doing its best at reducing road crashes in the area and the state in general,adding that there was always need for continued improvement in the course of their duty.
He said the unit under his watch had been making a lot of effort at reducing road crashes by removing obstruction for free flow of traffic and enforcement of traffic rules on motorists among others.
"Wherever there was gridlock,crashes we are always there promptly and do the necessary things.
"We will continue to ensure our visibility in order to reduce crashes on the road and to enforce the law, you can only enforce the law when you are there and that is why you see us on the road everytime," Kareem said.
The unit commander called on motorists to always be careful and not rush while driving, nothing that they could not beat their destiny no matter how fast they were.
"What is the essence of rushing or hurry that will terminate your life at the end of the day, life of others and as well lead to lost of property worth millions.
"I urge them to drive safe,stay safe so that at the end of the day your ambitions will be achieved," Kareem said.
Speaking on the newly promoted and decorated officers,Kareem urged them to rededicate themselves to their job and reciprocate the the gesture of FRSC management led by FRSC Corps Marshal, Dauda Biu.
He further advised them to be more professional in the discharge of their duties.
