Oyo State Governor, 'Seyi Makinde, expressed his admiration for the wisdom and leadership of former governor and Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Senator Rashidi Ladoja, during a visit to celebrate Ladoja's 80th birthday on Wednesday. The governor emphasized that the people of Oyo State will continue to look to Ladoja for guidance and support in the years ahead.
Visiting Ladoja's residence on Ondo Street in Bodija, Ibadan, Makinde acknowledged the significant contributions the octogenarian has made to the state and reiterated that Ladoja still has much to offer in terms of leadership. Responding to rumors of any discord between them, Makinde confirmed that he has always valued Ladoja’s role in his political journey.
During the visit, the governor also addressed concerns raised about his administration’s development policies. He acknowledged public criticism regarding accusations of land-grabbing and reassured citizens that while development is necessary, it will follow a proper trajectory. He stated, "Some critics have falsely accused us of land-grabbing... But if there must be development, it will follow a certain trajectory. Where there are challenges, I will say it again and again, we will address them."
Makinde invited collaboration with the public to tackle issues as they arise, emphasizing that his administration is committed to finding lasting solutions for the betterment of Oyo State.
