The Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has officially presented the instruments of office to the new Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade.
The presentation ceremony took place at the Executive Council Chambers, Governor’s Office, Agodi, Ibadan. Oba Owoade was accompanied by a delegation of his subjects from Oyo town, marking a significant moment in the state’s traditional leadership history.
In his remarks, Governor Makinde emphasized transparency and accountability in the selection process, warning that any chiefs found guilty of collecting bribes during the selection process would face prosecution.
