A teacher, identified as Nwadigbo, was remanded on Thursday following her arraignment by the police for allegedly assaulting a pupil, Michael Abayomi, during school hours. The incident reportedly occurred because the child was unable to correctly write the numbers 16 and 61.
In response to the public outcry that followed, the school management suspended Nwadigbo, distancing itself from the controversial incident. The court ordered her remand at the Kirikiri Correctional Facility, where she will remain until the next hearing scheduled for February 18, 2025.
