Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadan land, was on Monday crowned as a beaded-crown wearing Oba.
The coronation, which took place at the newly commissioned Oke-Agala palace of the Olubadan, was presided over by the Olubadan of Ibadan land, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Owolabi Olakuleyin.
The event was attended by a host of dignitaries, including the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Bayo Lawal, who represented Governor Seyi Makinde. Several other Ibadan Obas and Senior Chiefs were also present to witness the momentous occasion.
Ladoja's coronation marks a significant development in the Ibadan traditional hierarchy, as he was previously one of the Ibadan High Chiefs who had initially refused to accept the beaded crown. With this ceremony, he has now joined the ranks of the beaded-crown wearing Obas in Ibadan.
