In a poignant culmination of his life, the late Abdul-Azeez Arisekola Alao has made public his Last Will and Testament, outlining intricate details of his estate and intentions toward his family and community.

Alao, a respected figure from Oluwo Area, Ikolaba, New Bodija in Ibadan, Oyo State, appointed six individuals—including his daughter, Mrs. Adijat Bolanle Asunke Alao-Straub—as Executors and Trustees of his estate. He expressed a divine aspiration to be buried in his Arami wear at his home, close to his mother's grave, emphasizing a simple farewell without celebration, focusing instead on prayers and thanksgiving to Allah.

The will requires his daughter to settle funeral and testamentary expenses, with provisions for reimbursements from the estate’s funds. Alao designated an estate account at First Bank of Nigeria Plc for the collection of any debts owed to him, to ensure the management of his substantial estate comprising numerous properties across Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

Alao’s extensive property portfolio includes multiple residential buildings, bungalows, commercial complexes, and petrol stations, primarily situated in Ibadan. Notably, he has also expressed intentions for part of his property to serve educational purposes, directing that his expansive mansion in Oluwo-Kekere should be transformed into a permanent site for schools within three years.

In a notable philanthropic gesture, Alao mandated that funds be allocated to support his children’s education up to the university level and to sponsor annual pilgrimages to Umrah and Hajj for his family. Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of giving back to the community by establishing a special fund for the sponsorship of indigent Muslims for Hajj and mosque renovations.

Several educational institutions will benefit from an endowment of N5 million each for research and development in significant fields like Arabic and Islamic studies, medicine, and engineering. Family members have also been included in the will, with significant financial support directed toward his sister and brother for their welfare.

The will detailed generous bequests of luxurious Mercedes Benz vehicles to his children, alongside directives for the equitable distribution of his estate, with specific preferences for his eldest daughter. Alao's wishes reflect not only a dedication to his family's well-being but also a deeply rooted commitment to philanthropy and community service.
