Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has won in 31 out of the 33 local government areas in the state, DAILY POST reports.
The gubernatorial election was held in all 33 local government areas of the state on Saturday.
They included Makinde, who is seeking re-election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Teslim Folarin of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Adebayo Adelabu of Accord.
The election results also show that the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Senator Teslim Folarin won in only two (2) local government areas.
With this development, there are indications that INEC will declare Makinde the winner of the election in due course.
If declared the winner, Makinde will be the second governor to serve for two terms in the state.
The first governor to serve for two terms was late Abiola Ajimobi who governed the state between 2011 and 2019.

The Oyo governorship race is between Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Senator Teslim Folarin of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who lost his polling unit to the PDP.
Folarin, a former Senate Leader was the PDP’s governorship candidate in 2015, while Makinde was the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP)
The two leading candidates are from Ibadan, the state capital that has produced four of the five governors that have ruled the state since 1999.
Makinde, Senator Rasheed Ladoja (2003-2007) and Late Lam Adesina (1993-2003) and Abiola Ajimobi (2011-2019) are all from Ibadan, while Late Alao Akala (2007-2011) was from Ogbomoso.
