Oyo State governor, 'Seyi Makinde, has announced that 700 street traders who were displaced by the Agodi Gate Junction Improvement Works will be given free stalls in a new market built in the area. The governor made this declaration during the commissioning of the Idi Ape, Civic Centre, Agodi Gate Junction Improvement Projects.

He stated that the projects would not only reduce commute times for residents but also ease traffic flow and boost commercial activities in the area. The governor also revealed plans for three new Junction Improvement Projects in UI-Agbowo, Polytechnic Road-Sango, and Eleyele Junction. These projects are part of the governor's Oyo State Roadmap to Sustainable Development, 2023-2027.

During the flag off of the 32.2 km road infrastructure component of the Senator Rashidi Ladoja Circular Road, Governor Makinde emphasized the importance of developing Ibadan sustainably for the future. He pledged strict supervision of the project and announced that the government would soon open the North-East section of the project from Badeku to Moniya in Akinyele Local Government.

In response to residents protesting the demolition of their properties along the Circular Road corridor, Governor Makinde assured compensation for property owners with valid documents and relocation for others affected. He urged the affected residents to cooperate with the government in conducting an enumeration to facilitate necessary actions.

Anambra State governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, commended Governor Makinde for his leadership and urban regeneration efforts. He highlighted the significant infrastructure development in Ibadan and praised Governor Makinde for focusing on securing the future through sustainable projects.

The Oyo State Commissioner for Public Works, Infrastructure and Transport, Prof. Dahud Shangodoyin, explained that the Junction Improvement Works included traffic system management, provision of car parks, bus shelters, lock-up shops, and stalls. These projects mark important milestones in the state's progress and sustainable development. The events were attended by various dignitaries, including former Oyo State Military Administrator Major General Oladayo Popoola (retired), Deputy Governor Barr. Bayo Lawal, and PDP Deputy National Chairman (South) Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja.
