Members of Arewa Community in Oyo State has unanimously rejected an offer to support the incumbent governor of the state, Engr. Seyi Makinde but prefer to support his counterpart, APC governorship candidate, Senator Teslim Folarin for the forthcoming governorship election.

The community members reached this agreement on Thursday when they visited the residence of former Deputy Governor of the state, Barr. Hazeem Gbolarumi.

One of them who preferred anonymity while speaking with our reporter stated that Gov. Makinde invited them for a meeting requesting them to support him. "During the visit he gave us $100 each but we refused to support him and we reported back to Alhaji Gbolarumi who later called us to meet Senator Folarin today.

"We have not enjoyed anything good in Makinde's government. This is how they usually use us when election come and they abandon us after election. And that's why we refused to support his candidature for the governorship election.

"We have known Gbolarumi since days of late politician, Adedibu and he has never disappointed us. That's why we obey his instructions. Today, he has told us to support Senator Teslim Folarin and we believe we'll not regret it", the Hausa man said.

Meanwhile, in a short video captured during the visit of the Arewa group, one of them in the video affirmed that Makinde called them to support him but he hasn't done anything for them expect violent cases in the state. He added the governor said PDP should vote APC during February 25 presidential election and now he doesn't want to be at the receiving end of his action.
