A man was successfully rescued after drifting alone in the waters off Forcados Offshore, Delta State, for over four hours following a boating accident. The incident occurred around noon when the man’s speedboat capsized, leaving him stranded.
In a remarkable display of resourcefulness, the stranded individual utilized his fuel tank as a flotation device to remain afloat while awaiting rescue. Fortunately, his plight was noticed by the crew of the MV Omenma, a vessel returning from a project, which located him around 4:25 PM.
By the time he was found, the man showed signs of severe exhaustion as his body had become pale after prolonged exposure to the elements. The crew of the MV Omenma acted swiftly, bringing him onboard and providing immediate medical attention.
Thanks to their timely intervention, the man was pulled to safety and is now receiving treatment to recover from his ordeal.
