The recent election of Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya, commonly known as MC Oluomo, as the new president of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) generated widespread attention and mixed reactions. However, just weeks after his victory, a significant legal setback occurred.
A court in Abuja has ruled in favor of Alhaji Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa, affirming his status as the legitimate president of the NURTW. This ruling came after MC Oluomo attempted to appeal for confirmation of his presidency, but the court dismissed his challenge along with support from his followers.
A video has however emerged showing MC Oluomo's belongings, including numerous portraits, being removed from the NURTW office, further fueling the ongoing controversy surrounding the union's leadership.
