A Nigerian woman, Adejumorekeh Balogun, is calling for urgent assistance after she claims to have lost sight in her left eye due to a brutal beating by her husband. In a heartfelt post shared on Facebook on Saturday, November 16, 2024, Balogun recounted her harrowing experiences in a 15-year abusive relationship, describing her husband as a "beast" and pleading for justice.
"This is the result of fifteen years in an abusive relationship with a beast. I've lost my left eye… Please, I need help from the public. Justice must be served," she wrote alongside disturbing images of her injuries. Balogun also provided a contact number for those wishing to offer assistance, stating, "He knows I don’t have anybody, which is why he’s been treating me this way."
In a subsequent post on Sunday, November 17, Balogun revealed that she is currently hospitalized in an undisclosed location, fearing for her safety after receiving threats from her husband and his family in response to her earlier post. "Please share this message until it reaches the right authorities that can help me. I'm helpless; they don’t know where I am," she urged her followers.
Balogun also shared past instances of abuse, citing an attack from December 2022 and alleging that her husband has a history of violence towards his former wives. “He has been a beast since we’ve been together. His friends can testify, my family and friends can testify, even his ex-wives can bear witness against him,” she stated.
The woman expressed her desperation as she continues to seek help and support, emphasizing that her husband has attempted to silence her by threatening her and denying any past incidents of violence. "He has told me that I don’t have a solid background and that no one will come to my rescue. Now, I’m counting on God," she declared.
