A group of leaders from the North-East region of Nigeria gathered in Jalingo, Taraba State, on Sunday to praise Senate President, Chief Godswill Akpabio, for his exceptional leadership and dedication to justice, democracy, and integrity. The elders commended Akpabio for his intelligence, honesty, and commitment to the unity of Nigeria, as he works hand in hand with President Bola Tinubu and his colleagues to move the country forward.

The elders also applauded Akpabio for his strategic efforts in serving the nation's interests, promoting core values, and driving economic growth by creating jobs and increasing income opportunities. They dismissed the recent allegations of a N3 trillion budget padding as baseless and absurd.

According to Alhaji Ibrahim Zakari, Chairman of the North-East Elders Forum (NEEF), Akpabio is a moral force in Nigerian politics and has remained credible on all public issues. The elders praised Akpabio for his financial plan, commitment to national security, dedication to fostering economic opportunities for all, and openness to innovative ideas.

In a statement released after the meeting, the prominent elders expressed their deep disappointment with the disrespect shown towards the Senate President, his office, and the National Assembly. They commended Akpabio for his calm demeanor, kindness, and genuine nature. The elders also advised individuals like APC chieftain Dr Garus Gololo, PDP National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba, Haruna Abdulsalam, and Engineer Ufot Akan Umoren to choose their words more wisely to avoid causing division and violence in the country. They urged haters and extremists to reconsider their views and attitudes towards the senate leadership.

The elders strongly criticized Gololo for making false allegations and engaging in reckless talk. They described Abdulsalam as a "hereditary liar" and dismissed Ologunagba's statement as a cheap publicity stunt. The elders reiterated Akpabio's unwavering commitment to absolute integrity and highlighted his intelligence, budgetary expertise, and political acumen.

Furthermore, the elders emphasized the immense legislative challenges before Akpabio, highlighting his patriotism and character. They particularly appreciated his role in revitalizing economic growth, restoring Nigeria's international reputation, building confidence in politicians' integrity, and supporting Nigerians in their pursuit of peace and prosperity.
