A tragic accident occurred in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Saturday when a speeding black Mercedes saloon car rammed into a pharmacy store, killing an unidentified motorcycle (okada) rider and leaving the car's driver severely injured.

The incident happened around 2 p.m. at Osuntokun Junction, opposite Zenith Bank. The impact destroyed the pharmacy, while two parked vehicles belonging to customers were also damaged.

According to an eyewitness, the speeding Mercedes crossed the Bodija-UI main road from Osuntokun Avenue before crashing into the pharmacy near Grandex Stores. The okada rider, who was dropping off a passenger at the pharmacy, was killed instantly.

The driver of the Mercedes sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the University College Hospital (UCH) for treatment. The okada rider’s body was recovered from the shop and taken to the UCH morgue.

Efforts to reach the Public Relations Officer of the Oyo Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were unsuccessful, as they promised to provide details later.
