The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Oyo State Council, has extended its warmest congratulations to Oba Rashidi Ladoja
Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland and a former governor of Oyo State, who clocked 80 years on September 25, 2024.

The congratulatory message was contained in a statement issued by the Chairman of NUJ in the state, Chief Ademola Babalola, and Secretary, Olusola Oladapo, on Wednesday.

The union described the occasion of joining the league of octogenarians by Ladoja, as a significant milestone, which "marks not only the passage of time but also a life rich in accomplishments, wisdom, and service to the nation.

"Your journey from humble beginnings to becoming a prominent leader and esteemed statesman is nothing short of inspirational. Your dedication and contributions to Nigeria, particularly in your roles as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Governor of Oyo State, have had a profound impact on the lives of many.

"Your service in the oil sector further demonstrates your commitment to the development and progress of our nation.

"As the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, your leadership continues to guide and inspire. Your legacy of integrity, resilience, and public service is a beacon of hope for current and future generations.

"Today, as we celebrate you, we also celebrate the values you embody: hard work, humility, and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of our people.

"We wish you many more years of good health, happiness, and meaningful contributions to society. May this birthday bring you joy, surrounded by family, friends, and admirers, who cherish and respect you greatly."
