According to PUNCH on December 29, Adeboye made the remarks during the RCCG's annual 'Let's Go A-Fishing' program, themed 'Good News.' This event, a key initiative of the church for spreading the gospel across Nigeria, has been running for over two decades.
Addressing the congregation, Pastor Adeboye emphasized the significance of Christ’s mission on earth. He said, “Jesus Christ’s mission is to save humanity. Christ came to earth, bore humanity’s sins, and offered salvation and eternal life to all who will believe.” His message resonated deeply with attendees, culminating in altar calls where thousands publicly committed their lives to Christ.
