The leader Of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele has advised Nigerians not to expect too much from the presidential election petition tribunal which will be sitting today.
In a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin on Tuesday and made available to journalists, Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, advised Nigerians not to have high expectations regarding the upcoming presidential election petition tribunal.
He elaborated on the fact that those in power are determined to hinder justice in order to maintain their hold on power, hence it will be extremely challenging to overturn the outcome of the presidential election through the tribunal.
"At present, the situation remains uncertain, the possibility of a rerun is uncertain as well, but it is important to remember that God has the ability to change anything. The majority of Nigerians will not be satisfied with the outcome of the election tribunal. Therefore, Nigerians should not expect too much from the tribunal as the powers that be are unwilling to allow justice to prevail."
"I have previously mentioned that if the opposition had allowed Tinubu to win the election, the court will not be able to remove him from office."
The prophet went on to foresee disappointment for followers of the presidential candidate from the Labour Party, Peter Obi, stating that the judgment will not be in their favor. He revealed that the most unfavorable outcome would be a rerun.
He also called upon those who will not succeed in the case to maintain law and order and refrain from plunging the country into unnecessary unrest and chaos.
"The judgment will not favor Peter Obi and his supporters as they desire. He will not be able to claim victory through the tribunal, and as I have mentioned before, the worst-case scenario is a rerun of the election or the situation will remain unchanged."
"Regardless of the outcome, the losers must maintain law and order. They should refrain from causing riots and disturbance in the nation simply because they lost the case."
Furthermore, the prophet urged the judges to uphold the unity of the country by ensuring that justice prevails, even in the face of various forms of intimidation.
"The judges have the power to either strengthen or weaken the country through their judgments. Tensions are already high in the nation, and the best course of action they can take is to ensure that justice is served, regardless of the forms of intimidation they may face. It is their responsibility to deliver fair judgments in this case."
