Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) extended heartfelt greetings to Muslims across Nigeria in celebration of Eid-el-Maulud, a holiday honoring the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW). The senator's message was conveyed in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas, and shared with the press on Sunday in Ibadan.
In his message, Senator Alli encouraged Muslims to take this occasion as an opportunity for deep reflection on the teachings of the Prophet and their significance in the modern world. He emphasized values of peace, love, and tolerance as central themes of the Prophet's life.
"Now more than ever, we must embrace the principles of peace and harmony, as the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) are a timeless guide for humanity," he stated. "As we mark Eid-el-Maulud, let us recommit ourselves to justice, compassion, and mutual respect—the cornerstones of the Prophet’s message."
Senator Alli urged fellow Nigerians to pursue greater unity, warning that divisions based on religion, ethnicity, or politics could hinder the nation's progress. "Our unity is crucial for Nigeria's advancement; by fostering understanding and cooperation, we can build a stronger nation."
He congratulated the Muslim community in Oyo South and nationally for a successful Maulud celebration, offering prayers for blessings, guidance, and protection for all citizens while urging them to stay committed to their faith.
Reiterating his dedication to the welfare of his constituents and the socio-economic development of Oyo South and Nigeria, Senator Alli called for collaboration and prayer for the nation's leaders, urging that they govern with wisdom and justice.
