Yoruba Nation advocate, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has distanced himself from the recent invasion of the Oyo State government Secretariat by armed men suspected to be Yoruba Nation agitators.
Chief Adeyemo has refuted any involvement in the incident, which saw armed men donning army camouflage hoisting the Yoruba Nation flag and various accessories.
The invasion, which occurred in the early hours of Saturday, witnessed an attempt to take over the Governor's office and the House of Assembly complex. However, the joint efforts of the Nigerian Police, Civil Defence, Operation Burst, and Amotekun successfully repelled the invaders.
Chief Sunday Igboho, recognized as a leader of the Yoruba Nation agitation, has called for a thorough investigation to uncover the individuals responsible for the attack and their sponsors. He urges Governor Seyi Makinde to conduct a comprehensive probe to understand the motive behind the invasion and ensure the arrest and prosecution of those involved. Igboho emphasizes his unwavering commitment to the peace and security of the Yorubaland, assuring that he will not support any disturbance to the region's harmony.
