Activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has alleged that TikToker Seaking was re-arrested in Lagos on Thursday, February 6, and flown to Abuja over defamatory remarks against the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.

In a statement shared on his Facebook page, Sowore claimed to have visited the Federal Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) alongside lawyer Deji Adeyanju, where they learned that Seaking’s arrest was linked to allegations of cyberbullying against Adeboye.

According to Sowore, the FCID received a petition from one Paul James Adama on behalf of the pastor.

“We just left the DIG Dasuki Galandanchi-led Federal Investigation Department (FID) of the Nigeria Police Force, where we met Olumide Ogunsanwo, aka Seaking. He was in the custody of police officers who had traveled to Lagos to arrest him. Lawyers Deji Adeyanju and Marshal D. F. Abubakar were present, representing Seaking and standing in for Inibehe Effiong,” Sowore stated.

The controversy stems from a video posted by Seaking on TikTok in December 2024, in which he allegedly verbally attacked Adeboye. The video reportedly criticized the pastor for wearing a ceremonial military uniform in a promotional image for the church’s convention last August, themed "Onward Christian Soldier."

Sowore also suggested that a “Christian association or group” linked to Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Adejobi Olumuyiwa was involved in submitting the petition.

As of now, there has been no official response from Pastor Adeboye or the police regarding the claims.
