The body of Margret Oyibo Atayi, a young woman from Benue State, was discovered in Abuja on Monday, several days after she was reported missing.

Atayi, an Idoma girl from Ugbokolo, Okpokwu Local Government Area, was last seen on Friday, May 17th, 2024, around the City College of Education on Abacha Road in Mararaba, near the nation's capital.

Her sister, Stella Ameh, took to social media to express her grief and gratitude to those who assisted in the search for the missing woman. The cause of Atayi's death remains unknown, but many suspect it may have been a case of ritual killing, a growing concern in Nigeria.

This tragic incident follows the recent discovery of the body of another Benue girl, Kadoon Louisa Iornumbe, who was found dead and dumped near Mpape Junction in Abuja on May 3rd, 2024.

The spate of ritual killings, often linked to the activities of "Yahoo Boys," has become a worrying trend across the country, leaving families devastated and communities on edge. Authorities have been urged to intensify efforts to address this disturbing issue and ensure the safety of all citizens.

As the investigation into Atayi's death continues, her family and friends mourn the loss of a vibrant young life, while the broader community grapples with the growing threat of ritual killings that have shaken the nation.
