A disturbing video of a Ghanaian woman physically assaulting her father-in-law in Germany has gone viral, sparking widespread condemnation online. The woman, whose identity remains undisclosed, was seen in the footage confronting the elderly man over alleged defamation by her in-laws.
In the video, she accused her father-in-law of spreading false information about her, including claims that she was plotting to evict him from the house. Turning to her young daughter, she asked, "Have I ever done anything bad to this man in this house?" The child responded, "No."
The woman then recounted an alleged past altercation with her mother-in-law in Dusseldorf, claiming she had once been held in a similar manner. She instructed her minor daughter to bear witness to the situation and even asked the child whether she should continue the assault or stop. The girl replied that she should continue.
Following this exchange, the woman proceeded to physically attack the elderly man, slapping and shoving him before forcefully kneeing him in the groin, causing both of them to fall to the ground. Throughout the ordeal, the man protested in Twi, denying the accusations, but the woman insisted he was lying.
The video, initially shared by X user @JasperZiggle, was captioned: “This is what most of the Ghanaians and Nigerians go through in the hands of their so-called women abroad. Very sad and terrible.”
Authorities have yet to comment on the incident, but the footage has ignited conversations about domestic violence and abuse within immigrant communities.
