A Nigerian woman has expressed deep regret over turning down a man who showered her with love and kindness during her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) years ago. She now blames her best friend for advising the man to move on after enduring mistreatment from her.

The story was shared on social media by an X user, @Ryann_Agada, who recalled how her friend, Christy, had an admirer known for his generosity. Despite his devotion, Christy dismissed him due to his fashion choices, particularly his oversized trousers, which earned him the nickname "10 Yards."

Agada recounted that 10 Yards went above and beyond for Christy, often buying food and provisions for her and even rescuing her from difficult situations. However, she merely tolerated him for the perks he provided while secretly admiring another corps member.

Even on Christy’s birthday, 10 Yards took care of all expenses, yet she publicly embarrassed him, refusing to take pictures with him and eventually asking him to leave. Seeing how poorly he was treated, Agada advised him to walk away, which he eventually did.

Now, two years later, Christy has attempted to reconnect with him, only to be rejected. She admitted that her experiences with other men after 10 Yards had been disappointing, leading her to seek true love. However, he had moved on and even expressed gratitude to Agada for helping him realize his worth.

Feeling betrayed, Christy accused Agada of being jealous and unsupportive, insisting that a true friend should have sided with her. Agada, now questioning whether she did the right thing, shared the story online to seek opinions on her role in the situation.
