Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has confidently asserted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) national chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Ganduje, may have been mistaken in his recent claim that the APC will capture Osun and Oyo states. Speaking during the commissioning of infrastructure projects in Osun, Makinde expressed that the people of Osun, energized by the leadership of Governor Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke, are poised to demonstrate their discontent with the APC in the upcoming governorship election.

Makinde commended Adeleke for his commitment to delivering democratic benefits to the citizens of Osun, highlighting the ongoing infrastructure projects initiated during his tenure. He emphasized the importance of complete governance, gesturing to the collaborative spirit needed among political leaders to ensure the continuation of beneficial projects regardless of their origin.

“The people of Osun State made a wise choice by supporting Governor Adeleke two years ago, and they will continue to do so,” Makinde declared, asserting the residents’ readiness to “show the APC pepper” in future elections. He noted that Adeleke’s consistent execution of projects reflects his dedication to the ideals of good governance, a principle Makinde also upholds in Oyo State.

During his address, Makinde urged the public to rally behind Adeleke for another term, highlighting their shared vision as “true progressives” committed to working for the people’s welfare. He pointed out that successful governance is not limited by political lines, calling on leaders to prioritize the needs of their constituents.

“The completion of this road and other projects is pivotal for the economic advancement of Osun State. Development follows where infrastructure leads,” he stated, emphasizing the long-term benefits of ongoing projects.

Makinde also voiced his support for progressive policies that address Nigeria's economic challenges, criticizing the current federal system and advocating for reforms that foster true federalism.

Governor Adeleke, in receipt of Makinde’s praise, expressed gratitude for his counterpart's unwavering support, reinforcing the strong brotherhood between Osun and Oyo states.

The event featured several high-ranking officials from Oyo State, all united in celebration of the development strides being made in Osun.
