The founder of MedContour Services Ltd., Dr. Anuoluwapo Adepoju, has been convicted by the Federal High Court in Lagos for her involvement in a failed plastic surgery that led to the death of Nneka Onwuzuligbo in 2020, as reported by FIJ.
Babatunde Irukera, the former Director-General of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, took to Twitter to announce the conviction and expressed his satisfaction in prosecuting the case. He stressed the significance of holding individuals accountable and the role of the justice system in societal progress.

In a series of tweets under the handle #TundeIrukera, Irukera stated, “Today marks a proud moment for me as I personally handled the prosecution against Anu Adepoju and her medical practice. Despite my departure, the case has concluded with a conviction, reinforcing the accountability framework for all members of society, whether professionals or not. This is the essence of a functioning and evolving society.
“Dr. Anu Adepoju and her medical practice have been found guilty on all 5 counts filed by FCCPC. Though the wheels of justice may turn slowly, we must ensure due process. What we require is boldness and determination to prosecute competently and diligently. A positive development for consumers of professional services.”
