A Delta State High Court sitting in Warri, has ordered the arrest of a 44-year-old man, Quazeem Yisa Orelesi, for flauting court order.

Orelesi, was said to have been one of those who attended a g@y wedding ceremony held in Ekpan, Delta State, sometime in August, 2023, a development which generated series of reactions from different quarters in the State and Nigeria as a whole, including the Amnesty International which condemned the arrest of the gay members and described it as the violation of their human rights and discrimination based on real or perceived sexual orientation and gender identity.

The warrant of arrest on Orelesi, by the High Court was as a result of the violation of his bail conditions, as he has refused to appear in court as stipulated in the bail conditions months after he was granted bail.
