Nigeria’s Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima, praised Aliko Dangote for establishing the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemical Plant, saying it demonstrated that Africa is not all about instability and poverty.
He stated this at the commissioning of the 650,000 bpd refinery in Lagos State, where he represented President-elect Bola Tinubu.
“Africa isn’t just about the Sudan crisis. Africa is not solely defined by poverty, misery, and desolation. Africa is not all about insecurity, he remarked, urging the international media to “give this function maximum coverage.”
He stated that the Dangote Refinery will be the most significant single project to come up in Nigeria in recent times, with a big impact on the growth and development of our economy, as well as favourably influencing the lives and well-being of Nigerians.
On behalf of the President-elect, the former Borno State governor congratulated Dangote on the completion of the project. He praised other Nigerians who are following Dangote’s lead and encouraged others to do the same.
As expected, this development elicited reactions on Twitter as it was shared by Channels Television on their official handle.
A Twitter user identified as Godsgift C. Ejiama said, “Good to note. Nevertheless, we Nigerians hope that the refinery lives up to expectations. It’s supposed to make the cost of living easier, not otherwise!”
Alabi Tioluwani Stephen said, “Thank God he said not only about! We look forward to seeing your administration eliminate those fouls.”
