Mourners at a funeral in the Dominican Republic were left stunned when the eyes of a deceased man appeared to flicker open as he lay in his coffin.
The man, dressed in white and resting inside a coffin with a glass window over his face, seemed to have his eyes peacefully shut at first. However, a photograph taken during the ceremony revealed what looked like his eyes opening, sparking shock and confusion among those in attendance.
One family member, startled by the sight, speculated: “Who knows if he’s fighting for his life?” Concerned relatives even suggested calling an ambulance in case the man was somehow still alive.
Others, however, dismissed the incident, attributing it to natural post-mortem phenomena or an optical illusion caused by the light from mobile phone cameras. “Post-mortem muscle memory can sometimes cause movements in corpses,” one local explained.
The eerie moment left many guests debating whether they had witnessed a miracle or simply a trick of the light.
